About dressing/ hair arrangement

Do I need to bring anything on the day?

There is no need to bring anything with you on the day.
We have all necessary items available including tabi socks, underclothing for kimono, zori sandals, and bags.
However, we do recommend bringing a light, wide collar underclothing for cold days during the winter.

How long does it take to prepare on the day?

This may vary depending on how much time you spend when choosing your kimono, but the estimate is around 1 hour for choosing the kimono, dressing, and hair arrangement.
We may ask customers to wait for some time at the store during busy peak seasons in spring and fall.

Do you offer hair arrangement service?

We provide hair arrangement service by a professional stylist. (*optional plans available)
Please inform us when making a reservation if you wish to request for hair arrangement service.

Do you offer hair arrangement for short hair?

Hairstyles can be arranged as long as there is certain length. Please feel free to discuss hairstyles that match your kimono.

Do you have hair ornaments?

Customers who have their hair arranged can select 1 hair ornament of their choice.

About rental kimonos

Can rental plans be changed on the day?

Plans can be changed on the day when arriving at the store.

Can kimonos be reserved?

As of now, kimonos cannot be reserved beforehand. Please select upon visiting the store on the reserved date.

Do you have large (small) size kimonos?

We have various sizes available. The premium plan is offered for women.
The number of large (small) sizes is limited, so please inform us beforehand.
We may be unable to provide the right kimono if the size does not match. We kindly ask for your understanding.

Are there kimonos for children?

Yes, we have kimonos for children over 95cm tall.
Children over 150cm tall can select from the adult size kimonos.
Kimono underclothing for children is not included in our rental set. We provide towels instead, however, should you prefer to wear underclothing we ask that you bring a light fabric, wide collar underclothing.

What happens if the rental kimono becomes dirty/ is damaged or lost?

We can clean light stains or smears, so please return as it is.
*If extremely dirty/ cigarette burns/ damage/ loss, there will be extra charge.

Do you have warm clothing items?

We have shawls and overgarment for kimonos. (*Some are charged optional items.)
Leggings that extend up to the ankle and light fabric, wide collar underclothing can be worn under the kimono.

About reservations

How can I make a reservation?

Please reserve online or by telephone.

Can we rent kimonos without a reservation?

It is possible to rent kimonos without a reservation, however, customers with reservations will be served with priority.
Depending on the reservation status, we may ask you to wait, or in some cases, we may not be able to provide service. We kindly ask for your understanding.
Weekends, holidays, and peak tourist seasons are expected to be crowded, so, we recommend that you make a reservation.

Do you accept reservations for groups with large number of people?

We ask that you contact us in advance for reservations with more than 5 people.
We will have to arrange the schedule and number of staff to attend, therefore, we ask that you make sure to reserve beforehand.

Is it possible to make reservations early in the morning or outside open hours?

We regularly open from 10:00 a.m., however, we accept reservations from 9:00 a.m.
Please confirm through our contact form or by telephone.

About photo shooting

Is it possible to ask for photo shooting on the day?

You can request for photo shooting on the day without reservations, however, customers with reservations will be served with priority.
Depending on the reservation status, we may ask you to wait or not be able to provide service. We kindly ask for your understanding.

Can we select items to rent on the day?

Please choose on the day from our sample items.
Reserved items can be changed/ added.

Are photos taken individually?

 We can also take photos with multiple people.

Can photos be taken at any time?

If you wish to receive the photos on the day, photo shooting should start by 15:00 at the latest.
If the photos can be handed over on a later date, photo shooting can start up to 17:00.

About baggage / returning

Can we leave changed clothes/ baggage at the store?

Our store will keep all belongings except for valuables.
It is free of charge for items that can be placed in 1 of our specified bags. We charge ¥500 each for other items (travel bags/ suitcase).

Can we return the kimonos at the hotels we are staying at?

We accept the returning of kimonos at the hotels located within Kyoto-city for customers who have reserved and visit the store by 12:00.
There may be some hotels that do not accept the returning of kimonos, so, we ask that you confirm beforehand.

Until what time can we rent the kimonos?

Returning time is until 6:00 p.m. of the day you rent kimonos.
If you will be returning late, please return the kimonos to us the following day or at the hotel.
There will be extra charge for delay with returning. We kindly ask for your understanding.

Can we return the kimonos on the following day?

Yes. There will be an extra ¥1,000 charge for returning the items the following day, and they must be returned by 13:00 of the following day.

Other inquiries

Until what time do you accept cancellations? Is there a cancellation charge?

We accept cancellations without charge until 2 days before the reserved date. Please cancel through the reservation detail URL on your reservation confirmation email or by telephone.
Charges for cancellation a day before the reserved date will be 50% of the reservation plan charge, and cancellation on the day will be the full reservation plan charge.

Do you have parking space?

We do not have parking space, so, please use nearby coin operated parking spaces.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash and credit cards.
Accepted credit cards: VISA, JCB, American Express, MasterCard, UC, Diners Club, Discover, UnionPay, Rakuten

Can we rent even if it rains or in bad weather?

Items can be rented in slight rain or wind. We also have optional umbrellas.
However items cannot be rented in the event of weather that is difficult to walk in, such as typhoons, heavy rain, heavy snow, and other natural calamity.
